Welcome to Tilbury Power Station and Tilbury Energy & Environment Centre

Tilbury power station uses coal to generate electricity.

Come to our power station to…
1. Go inside a real boiler;
2. See inside a real turbine and grinding mill;
3. See the jetty where Supertankers (Panamax vessels) can unload up to 70,000 tonnes of coal.

Come to our Tilbury Energy & Environment Centre where students (from nursery schools to universities and community groups) can take part in a whole range of activity sessions including:

- natural habitats
- water purity and pollution
- science experiments

We offer a range of power station guided tours and can accommodate schools, colleges, universities and community groups for students aged 8 (Year 4) and above.

We look forward to welcoming you to Tilbury Power Station and Energy & Environment Centre Station and helping your students to gain a real insight in to how electricity is made!
